When you are looking for a fun filled, out of this world experience, does Texas come to mind? Clear Lake, Texas is home of the renowned NASA Johnson Space Center. Many people have dreamed, planned and prepared for years to become an astronaut. It is the intention of the directors at Space Center Houston for the guests to experience first hand what it takes to be an astronaut. At the Space Center Theater visitors can see the evolution of the equipment and the training of the men and women who were fascinated with space and wanted to become astronauts. The film goes behind the scenes and allows the viewers to experience weightlessness, view of the earth from space and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow astronauts and crew members. Another attraction that intrigues many, is the NASA tram tour. With this behind-the-scenes journey through NASA's Johnson Space Center, you may visit the Historic Mission Control Center, the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility or the current Mission Control Center. All of which include state of the art technology and are a truly remarkable educational experience for people of all ages.
NASA’s Johnson Space Center offers an array of educational programs that encompass all aspects of space and the daily life and duties of astronauts. Students in Space Center Houston's Space School will experience a 5-day engineering mission to land a rover on the surface of Mars. They will analyze rock samples with a Reflectance Spectrometer, loft a rock sample into Martian orbit, and return it back to Earth in a rocket of their own imaginative design. For those school’s or organizations that cannot visit Space Center Houston, they offer educational outreach programs, where a Space Science Instructor will come to your school or area library. Presentations are informative sessions for children ages 4 to 15. Participants will enjoy these age appropriate sessions that bring the excitement of Space Center Houston to life in your community.

Space Center Houston is located at 1601 NASA Parkway, approximately 25 miles south of downtown Houstonand 30 miles north of Galveston, in the Clear Lake area. Hours of operation are as follows:
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Weekdays
10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Weekends
Hours are subject to change throughout the summer and various hoildays.
